Nike Inc, Procurement

Nike’s Procurement department needed a new website outlining their process for on-boarding new contractors, vendors, and suppliers. We set up focus groups and strategy sessions, and helped senior leadership distill their highly complex process into a visual, intuitive, engaging design. Sync provided digital strategy, website design, communications strategy, copywriting, illustration and icon design, and website development.

Mobile-first from the start
The Procurement website needed to be mobile-friendly from the get-go, accounting for the wide diversity of visitors from various corners of the globe. As well, at least three primary audiences needed access to the site: Nike employees internal to the Procurement department, Nike employees outside of Procurement, and then of course vendors and suppliers and everyone external to Nike.Capture needs in Wireframes
Making the procurement and on-boarding process easy-to-grasp was crucial, especially given the diverse audience from around the globe, and knowing users would be on multiple devices. Our team went through an extensive wireframe process to ensure we captured all primary elements and needs, before diving into the laborious design process.

Complete control with WordPress
We built the site using the popular and powerful WordPress CMS. Website content editors are able to easily manage content, slides, styles and widgets using the powerful editor functions inside WordPress. We even designed a custom Slideshow plugin, allowing the client to have fine-grain control over exact positioning of text-layovers, sub-text, button styles and any background transparency elements.

Infographic design
Describing the purpose and position of Nike’s Procurement department within the overall context of Nike as a whole seemed like the perfect job for an Infographic! And we do love a good infographic design! Our team put together this highly visual overview of the various functions and roles this department is responsible for in the larger Nike ecosystem.
